The main reason that I believe Natalie won is that during the final tribal council, she revealed a bit of her strategy which included having the insight and wisdom to sit back, keep her head down, and find another way to the top after seeing aggressive women voted out early on. Hmm… you’re in a battle and everyone around you seems to get shot when they pop their heads up to look around. You decide to keep your head down and let the machine gunner clean out the enemy. You then rise up and go over into the enemy’s territory and announce victory. Sounds like a good plan.
Militarily, how many generals send out tanks, planes, ships, and troops only to sit back and be lauded for their work? Patton. Eisenhower. Montgomery. Schwarzkopf. Powell. And on and on. Did not Natalie do the same thing? Brilliant!
So Natalie White, as unlikely as she may be, outlasted everyone else except the last two men to be in that final tribal council. She outplayed, even if through having effective blocking, others who were far stronger, faster, and smarter. When Payton Manning has that sort of blocking, the team ends up with a 14-0 season going into the Christmas weekend. People laud Manning and barely know the names of his offensive line who give him that pocket to work in. Natalie had some good blocking and used her line effectively. Brilliant!
Warriors used to use a shield of skins or wood to absorb the arrows shot by enemies. An idiot would run into such a battle without one and would briefly live to regret the move. Those voted off early in the season should agree if they were honest. Natalie used a shield and let it absorb the attack while she came through virtually unscathed. In doing so, she out played and out witted the other contestants including the one who let himself be played as a shield. Natalie, Brilliant!
If you haven’t caught on yet, I have no problem with Natalie having won. You see, I’ve worked around and with pharmaceutical sales reps for the past 14 years and I know the strength and tenacity required in the business. Sure, a pretty face helps “sell” anything, but it takes far more to be truly successful. There is likely far more to the diminutive blonde in the sun dress than the Survivor cameras revealed. And in the end, it’s the jury’s vote that counts, not ours.
So there—an article addressing Natalie White and not once did I mention that evil little man who is supposedly a millionaire business owner from Dayton, Texas, ______________.
