I heard it over the radio and thought “Wow! Someone actually spoke up!”
Consider that President Obama had already said that “death committees” was a “lie” and that he also said that the plan’s detractors would be called out in the future…
“Now, such a charge would be laughable if it weren’t so cynical and irresponsible. It is a lie plain and simple.”
“I won’t stand by while the special interests use the same old tactics to keep things exactly the way they are. If you misrepresent what’s in this plan, we will call you out. And I will not…”
Strong words from the President and the initial comment sparked a strong response.
This is not England but such heckling occurs on a regular basis with the Prime Minister when he or she addresses Parliament. And are there any people on earth better known for their parliamentary procedure or decorum?
A shocking moment in our stuffy, respectful Congress, but worthy of all the backlash that’s been sent his way? Well, Rep Wilson saw fit to apologize but I think he’ll be nailed to the proverbial wall for the outburst.
Now, there are also those who claim that our reform efforts would insure illegal immigrants. This, too, is false. The reforms — the reforms I’m proposing would not apply to those who are here illegally.
(UNKNOWN): That’s a lie.
That’s not true.”
So is it really not true that the proposed bill will provide healthcare to illegal immigrants? What provisions will there be to prohibit their use of the healthcare options? Will they be screened prior to treatment or is it a post-treatment billing issue? “The Obama Plan: Stability & Security for all Americans” has nothing in it that mentions illegal immigrants from a point of inclusion or exclusion. So my question to Mr Obama has to be that while you say it won’t allow such a loophole, how do you propose to prevent this from happening?
