Shame on you President Obama!
While you contend that religion or faith does not belong in the course of science, I contend that the government does not belong there either. However, lest science run amok and dabble in the arcane, we do have rules and guidelines. Those rules and guidelines must follow some ethos. If we rely on the ethics of politicians, we are doomed!
Life begins at conception. The deaths and blood of embryos harvested for research from this day forward will be on your hands.
Life begins at conception. Scientists are not wanting to do research on an artificial construct—they want a living cell.
Human life begins at conception. Scientists wanting to do research on embryonic stem cells want HUMAN stem cells, not canine, feline, equine, bovine, etc.
Life begins at conception. “Embryo” is a man-made term to describe the phase in development of a human being. The human embryo does not grow into any other form of living organism.
Life begins at conception. If not, then the embryo would not grow, divide, and develop into a more complex organism. There is a biological process at work that has been genetically programmed to produce one thing.
To cheapen this early-stage of human development as something that can be farmed is shameful. We have already said that it can be terminated—euphemism for killed—up through the third trimester. We have rationalized away the horror of killing in utero rather than ex utero. It is somehow less abhorrent to kill this innocent creature before it takes its first breath as if the facts that it is fully human and has life do not matter.
It is somehow acceptable to kill a life barely begun to find a cure for a life afflicted with illness or injury. It is too easy to rationalize the value of one life over the other. It is too easy to take what cannot be denied or freely given by the donor—the hapless victim.
It is sad that in man’s search for the Tree of Life—the secret to eternal life—he denies the existence, authority, and providence of God. It is sad that in man’s search for fulfillment in this life, he is willing to sacrifice others. It is sad that man, for all of his accumulated knowledge, essentially has learned nothing.
It is sad that man puts the pursuit of his own goals and interests ahead of the value of life.
Mr Obama, it is sad that you have politicized the very essence of human life and dignity. It is sad that you have sanctioned the deaths of untold numbers of human lives all for the sake of political and financial gain.
And for all the reasons people said I should have voted for you, it is your lack of belief in the sanctity of human life that would cause me to never vote for you—for any office.
May God Forgive America!
NOTE: This is not about separating politics and science, but rather removing morality and the issues of faith from the political and scientific process. This is the politicizing of an issue. This is an amoral approach to life. If not, then Federal funds would not be involved. If not, then it would not have been a campaign promise to reverse this. And if not, President Obama would not have to issue an executive order to allow it—nor would Mr Bush have had to do so to prevent it.
