This is probably my fifth and final installment under this title. Now that 2008 is in the record books, it’s time to review just how low gas prices went during the year. In the Indianapolis area, the lowest price I saw during the year was $1.329 a gallon for regular.
Now, as life would have it, I filled up the day before for $1.399, but what’s $.07 cents a gallon these days? For my little Dodge Neon, a fill-up at the higher price was a lost opportunity to save somewhere around $.65—and while every penny counts these days, you buy gas when and as needed.
Well, since the new year, gas prices have climbed back into the $1.85 a gallon range. Seems as if the “prosperous” new year will be only for a few. Seems as if “change” is coming.
Happy New Year!
