When the Constitution stands against what you want to do, throw it out. When ambiguities of circumstances cloud the issue of eligibility to serve, complicate those ambiguities. And when the Constitution is clear, find loopholes.
So far, the incoming administration has not adequately answered the questions as to Mr Obama’s right to serve, and now, according to some, he is about to push Hillary Clinton through a loophole in order for her to serve as his Secretary of State.
Power corrupts, indeed.
Based on the CNN article, it would appear that those who would support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, should be up in arms over the appointment.
This is a portent of things to come as the Constitution is treated as an historical document with no legal significance for us today. It is much the same way that many feel the Bible has no relevance for us. Over the next four years, I expect that we will see an increase in Constitutional trouncing to the point that by 2012, we will not recognize it as a standard or foundation at all.
When you are in power, throw out the Constitution as you like, implement what you want, and dare any American to prove they have legal standing to fight it.
