The day is bright and sunny—cold, but sunny. The calendar says it is Thanksgiving day, and there is a bittersweet event to give thanks for today: The arrest of a suspect in the brutal attack and murder of Anne Pressly.
Late Wednesday evening, Little Rock Police arrested Curtis Lavelle Vance as the prime suspect in the murder. One can only hope that the evidence against this man is well put together, the case well presented, and that he is convicted and sentenced accordingly. As for innocent until proven guilty, yes, I’m all for that. As for punishing the convict, I’m all for that too. For now, we presume (in the eyes of the law) that he is innocent, but breathe a collective sigh of relief that the case has not rested and that the LRPD has done its job successfully to this point.
My deepest sympathies to Patti and Guy Cannady!
