On the backside of the Darwin anniversary, it is only fitting that a puzzle of mammoth proportions should arise from the Southern California soil.  It is what scientist might call a whale of a find, and by their own time lines, it does not fit easily into the time-scape and theories science may espouse.
Herein is [...]

Quiz-No-Nos

The author of the article detailing Quiznos’ issues over the free subs has one thing over me—at least he got the email with the link for the free sub.  I never got the email so I had no trouble printing the coupon or redeeming it at a local restaurant.
I happen to like Quiznos sandwiches even [...]

On the drive home this afternoon, I was listening to Mandalit DelBarco on NPR.  I generally appreciate her stories, which seem to have the corner on insight into the Latino community.  One of the coolest parts of her stories is hearing her pronounce her name at the end—but that’s a thought for another day.

It seems as if instead of fighting the War on Terror in Afghanistan, someone needs to fight the War on Waste and Stupidity in Washington!
CNN is reporting today that 87,000 weapons (example pictured) bought with US taxpayer dollars at a cost of approximately $120 million between December 2004 and June 2008—are MISSING!
The report goes on [...]

At the well-attended memorial for Caylee Anthony, Cindy Anthony, the grandmother of the murdered child, had this to say:
“It breaks my heart today that Casey isn’t here today to honor her child who she loved so much”
As I read it, the thought occurred to me that her heart should be broken over the death of [...]

Soothsayer?  Nay.
Naysayer?  Yes.
And as for the $800 Billion Stimulus working, I say “Nay!”
As I wrote about before, Washington cannot fix this problem because it is not a Washington-induced problem.  The problem is not whether there are enough infrastructure jobs in America, but whether companies are willing to retain employees.  Of course, with sales and profits [...]
