Hello, World!

Web log… seems easy enough to contract it down to “blog”.  I’ve been aware of blogging for quite some time through my involvement in the IT community as well as through my teen and pre-teen daughters!  A few years ago, it was all about Xanga and more recently, MySpace and Facebook.  It seemed as if blogging and social networking were the Internet playthings of the pubescent corners of society.  Clearly, it was not something for which I would have the time or the interest.  But recently, I read some interesting posts from a perspective employer and realized that not only could I find the time, but that I also had the interest and content to make a blog worthwhile–for someone.  So here I am, making my first real outing into the blogosphere.  Come back and see what’s going on and tell a friend.  Feedback is always welcome, whether positive or negative.  After all, isn’t this about communication?  And communication has to be two-way if it is to be of any value.  I only ask that you be kind, be gentle, be attentive, be responsive, and be honest.
